Porsche Sprint Challenge US West at Sonoma Raceway – June 2023

The second Porsche Sprint Challenge US West race weekend of the season occurred on June 16-18 at Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma CA. This is a very technical 12-turn layout with major elevation changes throughout the 2.5 miles. This is the race track I have the most difficulty with.  In the first race, I got a drive-through penalty (approx 42 seconds) for an incident the stewards felt I was at fault – which in hindsight I was. Overall the weekend was a lot of fun. It was great to see my team principal from BR Racing, Robb Todd, win both races from pole.

This is the in car video of my qualifying lap held on June 17, 2023, at Sonoma Raceway during the Porsche Sprint Challenge US West Series. I’m driving a Porsche 911 (992) GT3 Cup car in the Am Class. I’m racing to help those with Diabetes. I’ve had type 2 diabetes for several years and through exercise, diet and medication I’ve kept my A1C below 6.5. This enables me to race and help those less fortunate. If you’re able I ask that you donate $5, $10, $20 or more to the Diabetes Foundation.
