Goodies Speed Shop Race Car – 2006 Mustang GT

Goodies Speed Shop has just completed testing the Mustang GT Track/Race car. The car was based on a 2006 Ford Mustang GT with a 4.6L V8 that had been driven approximately 49,000 miles. The following modifications were made to get this car ready for the track:

Sebastian Vettel: What matters most about your ride

Today’s Brazilian GP marked the end of the 2011 Formula 1 season, a season in which Red Bull and Sebastian Vettel dominated. I was struck by a comment Seb made in the post-race interview on Speed Channel. I think it captures very well the spirit of our customers and our team at Goodies.

Upgrading the ECU

Over the past few weeks I’ve been looking for an ECU upgrade for my Porsche 911 turbo (997TT). Searched all over the web and found there were 2 basic approaches to ECU tuning. The first, and in most cases more expensive, is to find a local tuning shop, arrange an appointment and drop off the […]

Black flagged at Laguna Seca for a sound violation

This week I participated in the Hooked on Driving, HPDE event at Mazda Raceway at Laguna Seca. Having never driven at this track I was assigned a coach to help me learn the line and teach me the braking and power zones. There was a noise restriction at the track of 92db for the day. […]

Racing against the clock – PCA-GGR Autocross

This year I’m taking my interest in auto sports to a new level. I participated in my first autocross event a few weeks ago. The event was at Alameda Point [ex-Naval Air Station] and run by the Golden Gate region of the Porsche Club of America. My best time was 43.9 — plenty of room […]

Malaysian GP abandoned: F1 victim of its own greed

Hamilton and WeberToday’s race was exciting for 30 laps, then the rain came and by lap 32 the race was over. I’m pleased Brawn GP, BMW Sauber and Toyota were on the podium, and not just McLaren and Ferrari, but what a crazy way to finish. Jensen Button and Brawn GP have won both here and Australia but have yet to finish under racing conditions.

New Season of Formula One, no longer dominated by Ferrari and McLaren

What a different formula one race. The Australian grand prix debuted new cars, new tires and new racing. Instead of seeing McLaren and Ferrari dominating from start to finish, we see Braun, Red Bull, BMW and Toyota. A year ago nobody would have thought that Button and Barrichello would be one-two in any race. On […]

Amazing Kimi – Winning Brazilian GP and World Drivers’ Championship

What an exciting Formula 1 season. After the Japanese Grand Prix, two races ago, I was convinced Lewis Hamilton was going to be the first rookie to win the Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship and that Kimi Raikkonen didn’t have a chance. Even entering today’s race it was really only a mathematical probability that Kimi […]

Well done Kimi — you’ve turned on the heat!

Back in June, I wrote a post suggesting it was time for Kimi Raikkonen to turn up the heat. He’s certainly done that over the last few races, winning the Canadian, US, British, Belgium and the Chinese Grand Prix’s and coming second or third in four others. Kimi now has a chance to win the […]

Lewis Hamilton asterisk — * First WDC as a Rookie

There’s been a lot of talk in the press and blogosphere about Lewis Hamilton and whether he should have an asterisk beside his name if he becomes the Formula One world drivers champion. I say yes! – Not because he may have won as a result of the Mclaren – Ferrari spying scandal, but because […]

Well done Kimi

At long last, it looks like Kimi Raikkonen is back on form. He ran a flawless race beating his teammate Felipe Massa. As reported in GPUpdate, Kimi said: “We’ve had a bit of a hard time the past two months but I always expected that and it’s a bit difficult when you don’t get good […]

Time to turn on the heat Kimi

It seems that I’m not the only one disappointed in Kimi Raikkonen this year. According to a news item on Pittpass.com and another on gpudate. “Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has turned the heat up on Kimi Raikkonen, saying the Ice-Man has so far failed to achieve his potential with the Italian team, despite winning […]
